The November Meeting was hosted by Ofc. Chris Harrington of
Bolton
PD. As always, Chris
provided the members with a true New England Fall Day and allowed for
everyone to travel and enjoy the scenery!
U.S. Postal Inspectors Daniel Bonda and Kelley Blood spoke of the
numerous Identity Theft and various Fraud investigations taking place as
we speak. They are an
incredible resource for any department who needs additional
investigative services. Insp.
Bonda and Insp. Blood provided the members with numerous videos and
handouts for Fraud/ID Theft Talks. Another
great resource is: www.FakeChecks.org.
This site provides REAL victims’ accounts of how easily one can
be ‘taken’ and how these crimes truly affect the average person.

Also speaking at the meeting was Judy Dupille of the RMV.
Judy reported a good response to the Yellow Blitz Campaign on
October 22 with 75 Violations reported.
Also, new Inspection Stickers with the Day-Glow feature were
handed out for departments to analyze and test on their cruisers.
There was also discussion regarding the new Commercial Inspection
Stickers that are out on the road. Keep
your eyes open!
Just a reminder to watch for any Citizen Safety Award Candidates
in your communities! Candidates
will be accepted until the January Meeting, then discussion and voting
will take place at the February Meeting.
There are quite a few good candidates this year, so the selection
process will be tough.
Another good resource to check out is www.setb.com.
This site provides a number of Home Safety Courses as well as a
good abundance of 911 resources. Officers
have utilized the site and highly recommend it.
For those of you who haven’t turned your FY 2009 Membership
Forms in, this is your reminder to do so!
I haven’t provided Forms in this mailing, but you know
you haven’t turned yours in if you find it in the “To Do” pile on
your desk!
